Doctor P. L. Dhingra

Close to 60 years in ENT. That’s Doctor P. L. Dhingra’s career, and he’s still seeing patients today at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Sarita Vihar, Delhi. He did his MBBS from Punjab University back in 1963, then went on for his master’s in ENT from the same university in 1967. So basically, his whole career has run right alongside how much this field has changed over the decades — pretty rare to find that kind of continuity in medicine anymore.

Dhingra has written actual textbooks. “Diseases of Ear, Nose and Throat” and “Self-Assessment and Review of Ear, Nose and Throat” are both books used widely in the field, not just something he put his name on.
